A common misunderstanding is thinking that a shedding scraper is the same thing as a Furminator – but that’s exactly the point: it’s not.

Say “Furminator” and many dog groomers get chills – and for good reason. Between the tightly packed teeth of a Furminator sits a sharpened edge that doesn’t just remove loose fur, but can actually cut healthy hair too. It’s basically a mix between an undercoat rake and a dematting blade. That’s why it can feel so effective and satisfying to use – but also why it’s a bit brutal.

The Furminator works fast, but without discrimination – often taking off more fur than it should. That’s where the shedding scraper comes in as a kinder alternative.
It contains no cutting parts and causes no damage to the coat. Instead, the fine-toothed edge gently collects loose fur that’s already been shed – exactly what we want to remove.

Use it with short strokes, a light touch, and at the right angle.

Best suited for shedding dogs with short to medium coats, but it can also work on some long-haired breeds – as long as the coat isn’t too dense or compact. It’s also great for certain cats, rabbits, and even horses.
