A common misconception is that a grooming rake is the same as a Furminator – but that’s the whole point: it’s not.

Mention “Furminator” and many professional dog groomers cringe – and with good reason. Hidden between its dense teeth is a sharpened edge that not only removes loose fur but can also cut healthy hairs. It’s a mix between an undercoat rake and a dematting blade. That’s why it can feel so effective and satisfying – but also quite harsh.

The Furminator works fast, but without discrimination – often removing more fur than it should.
That’s where the grooming rake comes in as the gentler alternative. It has no cutting parts and causes no damage to the coat. Instead, its fine-toothed blade carefully lifts away fur that’s already been shed – exactly what you want to remove.

Use it with short strokes, a light touch, and at the right angle.

Perfect for shedding dogs with short to medium-length coats, and also works well on some long-haired breeds – as long as the coat isn’t too dense or compact. It’s also excellent for cats, rabbits, and even horses.
